Snooker & Billiards Ireland were delighted to welcome Fíbín Media production team to the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow who were filming a kids’ sports TV show for TG4 on Monday 30th March.
The kids show ‘’Fonn Spóirt’’ is about all showing different sports which focuses on participation, trying something new, and showing that there’s a sport out there for everyone.

Earlier this year Fíbín Media had looked for young presenters who love sport, spoke Irish, and was willing trying new sports. In each episode, a young presenter would explain and demonstrate a sport, teaching another young presenter some of the skills needed to participate in that type of sport.
Today 10yr old Lughaidh from Dublin welcomed 13yr old Janelle from Loais to introduce her to game of Snooker. Janelle never played snooker before. They used the full-size table and the small star tables. Our National Coach PJ Nolan was on hand to assist everyone in learning the correct fundamentals on the day.

During the filming they focused on Stance, Bridge and Potting. We ended with a match-play black challenge to see if student or teacher won!!! In the end it was Lughaidh who won it. Young presented Janelle had been previously introduced in other shows to Hockey, BMX, Batton Twirling and all the shows will be aired on TG4 around October time.
Fíbín Media were very impressed with the facilities in the academy and the production team thanked SBI for hosting the show and to PJ Nolan for attending the entire filming.
PJ presented both young presenters with trophies, medal and a manual to remember their day in the SBI Academy.
SBI will post a link to the show when it will be aired.
