Snooker & Billiards Ireland would like to extend huge congratulations to Dylan Rees on making Irish snooker history by becoming the first player from Ireland to be crowned European Disability Snooker Champion in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Dylan defeated Nikolay Hristov 3–0 in the Group 7 final to add the European title to an already remarkable list of achievements.
This latest success comes after Dylan made history in 2025 by becoming Ireland’s first World Disability Snooker Champion, a title he has since successfully defended.
And his achievements don’t stop there. Dylan has also been a highly successful player on the Irish scene, including winning the Irish Masters Championship in 2025, adding another major domestic title to his collection.
But perhaps what deserves as much recognition as the trophies is the person behind them.
Dylan is widely known around the main tour as a friendly, approachable and highly respected player, always willing to give his time and support to others. His contribution to disability snooker in Ireland has also been enormous. Through his hard work and dedication, he has helped develop the Irish Disability Tour to an extremely high standard, creating opportunities and a pathway for players to compete and develop within the sport.
He has also put huge effort into developing snooker at club level in his adopted home of Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, helping to promote the game and provide opportunities for players locally.
From representing Ireland, to becoming a World Champion, defending that title, winning the Irish Masters, and now becoming European Champion, Dylan’s journey has been one of commitment, hard work and dedication.
