After a long day of snooker on Day 3 of the 2018 Under 18 EBSA Snooker Championships in the Ramada Hotel, Sofia saw Ireland’s Ross Bulman beaten by Florian Nüßle from Austria in the Q-Finals.
Last 32
Earlier in the morning in the Last 32, Ross had a superb win over Nick Jansen from Belgium 3 frames to 1. Aaron Hill had a great win over Sybren Sokolowski from Belgium 3 frames to nil and Ronan Whyte ended the perfect morning with a good 3 frames to 2 victory over Viktor Iliev from Bulgaria.
Last 16
Ross again was in great form with a 3-1 victory over Patrik Tiihonen from Finland, but Aaron Hill was beaten by Florian Nüßle from Austria 3 frames to 2 despite a 59 break in the decider by the Corkman. Ronan Whyte was also beaten 3 frames to nil by Sean McAllister from England.
Q-Finals
Ross got off to a great start winning the opening frame but back came the Austrian to level, Ross seemed to be going 2-1 but Florian fought back to steal it on the black. The Austrian then fired in a superb 85 break to go 3-1 up and won the next to win the match 4-1. Well done Ross on a great run and Good luck to Florian in the semis.
Well Done Team Ireland
All four Irish players were fantastic and represented our Country with pride. Each one of them should be very proud as the standard is very high.
Semi Finals
In the Semi Final there are One Welsh, One English, One Austrian and One German player left in the Championship so it promises to be very exciting tomorrow.
The European Under 21 Event begins at 10am tomorrow featuring Stephen Bateman, Aaron Holland, Ross Bulman, Aaron Hill and Ronan Whyte and RIBSA wish them all good luck in the event.
