This week our National Coach PJ Nolan held an 8 Ball Pool Coaching Clinic in CIT University in Cork City and the students were very keen on improving their game before the Intervarsities Pool Championships which take place this weekend in Dundalk.
Niall Marshall, Chairperson of CIT Pool Club was impressed with the quality of the coaching during the 2 hr session and he said the players learnt a lot of tips and training routines which will help us improve more. He hopes the University arranges another clinic for the students in the near future.
PJ worked mainly on getting each student to cue smoothly and how to find the line of aim. They practiced the break off which PJ believes is key, along with routines to open a pack of balls, doubles and potting shots from and down the cushions.
The students were of various playing standards but PJ was impressed with their commitment and they practiced his IPA Official pool routines which are used throughout Ireland to prepare players for Irish Pool Association ranking events.
If any player, club, School, University would like to like to book a coaching session with PJ Nolan who is one of the world’s leading coaches they should email pjcoach147@hotmail.com for his next available date.
