Derek Kiely is the new PRO for the Republic of Ireland Billiards and Snooker Association (RIBSA). Derek Kiely, based in Youghal Co. Cork is the only Irish based Journalist covering Amateur Snooker in the Republic of Ireland for the last 20 years.
Derek is a freelance journalist with the Evening Echo, 96FM, Setanta Sports, RTE and various local publications in the Munster Region.
Derek has a weekly one page Snooker feature every Tuesday night in the Evening Echo and has been the Press Office for the Munster and Snooker Championships for many years now and has been Press Officer at PTC World Snooker Events for National and International Media Outlets.
Derek travelled to Malta with RIBSA a couple of years ago and will in the future be more involved with the coverage of European Championships.
