Home Internationals Training Weekend

On the weekend of Saturday and Sunday the 1^st & 2^nd of September RIBSA will be holding a training camp in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow to prepare our teams for this year’s Home Internationals which will be played from the 7^th – 14^th of September.

This year leading Irish professional snooker player Fergal O Brien who is currently ranked at number 32 in the professional game will assist our National Coach PJ Nolan to guide our players on working on the correct fundamentals.

Fergal will talk to the players to advise them on how to train and the psychology of achieving a good performance in Pontins at the Home Internationals. PJ will work on the player’s techniques and outline the training program for all the players.

The weekend camp will be divided into coaching and training camp on the Saturday and on Sunday there will be a team’s tournament for the players to practice their match-play.

The cost of attending the camp for both days will be €10.00 and all Home International player playing this year will need to confirm by texting the RIBSA number that they are attending the camp on 085 1987379

The 2012 Home Internationals will be held in Pontins North Wales and this years Championship will feature a new four man format instead of the usual six man format.

The seniors and masters event will be played on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Under 16’s and 19’s events will be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Home International Billiards will be played on Friday and the WEBOS Welsh Open on the Saturday and Sunday.
