Congratulations to Ireland’s Brendan O Donoghue on reaching the Semi Finals of the 2026 European Seniors Snooker Championships in the Ramada Sofia City Centre Hotel this week.
Snooker & Billiards Ireland had 6 players playing in this singles Championships here in Bulgaria. Brendan O’Donoghue, John O’Sullivan, Benny O’Brien, Shane Gorman, Mark Walsh and Jay Chopra competed in the event.
Brendan had beaten several top players on route to the semi-finals. SBI Chairman John Tobin was on hand at the medal ceremony tonight to congratulate Paudie on his fantastic achievement on winning the bronze medal.
Brendan had great wins to earn another International Medal but ran into the Number 1 seed Kevin Hanssens from Belgium who went on to win the title.
This was the third medal for SBI this week at this Europeans with Paula Judge winning Bronze in the Women’s Championship and Paudie Kelly also winning Bronze in the Super Seniors Championship.
Well done Brendan from everyone involved in Snooker & Billiards Ireland.
