Snooker & Billiards Ireland held the first of three International Camps for our players playing in the 2025 Home Internationals in Leeds on Saturday 19th July from 11am-4pm in the SBI Academy in Carlow. SBI Camps are held each year to allow our players train in a camp with our National Coach PJ Nolan who is also a WPBSA Coach and Head of Coaching in the European Billiards & Snooker Association.
SBI President Jim Leacy welcomed all the players and wished them good luck in playing for Ireland in the 2025 Home Internationals in Leeds.
Training Camps
Our SBI National Coach held sessions on Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting and Technique checks. All the players will receive a training program booklet with practice drills plus a sports phycology booklet to help them work on their mind fitness.
The next National Team Camps will be held on the 26th / 27th July with training from 11am-4pm each day. On 26th of July, Mind Coach Evan McGrath from Serenity of Mind Sports will attend to support the players in a session to improve their mind set.
Training Aids
The latest training aids will be used in the camps to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get them on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
It promises to be an exciting period of training for our players and we hope all the players will enjoy the camps.
