On Saturday 21st of June, we had the pleasure of hosting former Irish amateur finalist from 1973 Joe Bannister and his family to Snooker HQ. To celebrate the occasion of his 90th birthday Joe did a tour of the facility and shared some stories of snooker past.
Also, in attendance we’re some greats of Irish snooker Mick Kane, Dylan Rees and Rodney Goggins. Joe and Mick treated us to a frame on the main match table, playing against each other for the first time in 40 years.
Tea and cake were enjoyed by the visitors and a presentation made by National Secretary Leslie Carroll to Joe before bidding farewell.
