Three Regirstered Local Clubs
County Cork boosts of three leading clubs in the local area with: The Crucible SC in Cork – AOH Club and Youghal CYMS and with the amount of talent on show, many could follow in the footsteps of Corlk’s Pro players Aaron Hill and Leone Crowley.
Learn the Basics
Sinead Duggan from Coláiste/Gaelcholáiste Choilm invited SBI to hold this promotion day to learn the basics of the game from our SBI National Snooker Coach PJ Nolan and SBI Qualified Coaches Shane Gorman, Con Walsh and David Joyce.
Mini Star Tables
The four miniature Star snooker tables used today provide SBI a great opportunity to introduce the game into schools, and help new younger people to play the game.
Gold Medals
The boys and girls learnt how to develop a good Bridge Hand, Stance and Grip through demonstrations by snooker coaches. We also had a final with every group and the winners received gold medals.
Fun Day
Both the students and the teachers said they really enjoyed the session and learnt a lot and had fun doing it. The handouts with the technical information on the fundamentals and the info on local clubs around Co Cork was to encourage the students to play more in the future.
Snooker in Schools
SBI hope to grow our Snooker in Schools project more in 2025. A number of schools are already lined for the new season. If you know any school who would like to become part of our Snooker in Schools project in 2026 they should email info@sbireland.ie
