Snooker & Billiards Ireland held their first of three planned International Snooker Training days with our National Coach PJ Nolan on the 11th of January in the SBI HQ in Carlow from 11am-4pm today.
These camps are to prepare our National players for the 2025 European Snooker Championships which will be held in Turkey in March and the 2025 World Disability Championships which will be held in Thailand in February.
European Snooker Championships Players – Turkey
- Under 16 – Liam Dunne, Aaron Donnelly, Max Kennedy, William Shannon, Scott Cooke
- Under 18 – Lorcán Ó Curraoin, Aaron Donnelly, Oscar Ellison Gibbons, Max Kennedy, Scott Cooke
- Under 21– Ronan Mcguirk, Adam Halnon, James O’Connell, Clayton Cregan, Alex Currid
- Amateur: John Sutton, Noel Gleeson, Brendan O Brien, Tommy O Donoghue, Leone Crowley
World Disability Championships Players – Thailand
- Team Ireland = Alex Henerbrey, Fran Coyle, Colvin O’Brien, Niall Pollitt, Aidan Pollitt, Dylan Rees
Training Camp
Our National Coach PJ Nolan held sessions on Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting Drills plus the players had their Technique checks. All the players will also receive a new training program booklet with practice drills plus a sports phycology booklet to help them work on their mind fitness.
The booklet contained a program to develop Smarter Goals and a check list to do before, during and after matches with Travel, Clothes, Equipment, Sleep, Nutrition and Mental Fitness advice to help them at their International event. All the players were also fitted for Irish waistcoats.
Coaching Aids
The players practiced on the Rasson Match Tables and the latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the QLine Aid, Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get them on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.

Snooker & Billiards Ireland have two more planned Coaching Camps in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow with PJ from 11am-4pm.
