Adam Halnon from Gorey in Wexford won his maiden Junior ranking title when he won the second Snooker & Billiards Ireland (SBI) 21’s Ranking event of the season on Saturday the 9th November in the SBI HQ Carlow. Today we had 22 entries from all over Ireland and the future is looking good for Irish Snooker.
In the final Adam beat in form player Noel Gleeson from Nenagh who is having a fantastic season 3 frames to 2 in a great final which was refereed by Shane Gorman.
Adam won the opening frame, Noel fought back to win next and a superb 92c won the third. In the fourth Noel had to clear the colours to win the title but a missed pink let Adam back to level the match. In the decider it was close until the Wexfordman potted vital balls to get over the line and claim his first SBI title.
The high break in the event went to Leone Crowley with a fantasic 112 clearance in his first round victory over Joe Shannon.
PJ Nolan’s 147academy will be the title sponsor for all the Junior Tours this season and it was a fantastic day of Junior snooker with all the stars playing great snooker and gaining National experience on the table.
In the semi finals, Noel Gleeson beat Leone Crowley 3 frames to nil in a high quality match while Adan Halnon beat event 1 winner Ronan McGuirk 3-2 in another great match. All eyes were on gaining ranking points which will help qualify them for major International events later in the year.
This was the second event on the 2024-2025 SBI 21’s Snooker Tour. SBI are holding four 21’s ranking events plus a National 21’s Championships this season. All ranking events will be played on the same day as the 14’s so start time for all matches will 10.00am.
The Entry Fees for all Junior events is €10.00 each.

- One coloured shirt buttoned at the wrist
- Waistcoats must be worn for all matches in National Championships.

- Bowties are also required for the SBI Championships for all matches.
