Snooker & Billiards Ireland held an International Snooker Training Camp with our National Coach PJ Nolan on Sunday the 29th of September in the SBI HQ in Carlow from 11am-4pm. The camp was to prepare for 2024 Europeans in Portugal and the IBSF World Championships in Qatar.
This camp was held with the aim of preparing our National players for the European Snooker Championships which will be held in October in Portugal and the IBSF World Championships which will be held in October / November in Qatar.
Our National Coach PJ Nolan held sessions on Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting and Technique checks. All the players received a new training program booklet with practice drills plus a sports phycology booklet to help them work on their mind fitness ahead of the Championships.
Mark Gleeson won the drills event with a great display of break building and long potting. SBI President Jim Leacy was on hand to wish the players good luck in the upcoming International events in Portugal and Qatar.
The players practiced on the Star & Rasson Match Tables and the latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the QLine Aid, Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get them on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
