Roadstone SC in Dublin hosted the 6th and final ranking event of the 2023/2024 season. Play commenced at 10am with 16 players participating.
16 players took part and after a long days play the semi-finals were contested by Brian McPhee v. Simon Scott and Stephen Merrigan v. Patsy Farrell, both Brian and Stephen came through by a 3 – 0 score line.
In the final Brian continued to play good attacking snooker and overcame Stephen also by 3 frames to 0. Well done to both for excellent performances all day.
Tournament Director Tony Thorpe thanked the players for again supporting our tournaments. With the championships coming up in May and the annual Celtic Challenge taking place in the SBI centre in July a very competitive tournament is expected with all the players keen to be selected.
As usual the Roadstone club and tables were presented in excellent condition, thanks to Stephen, Brendan, Paul and all the club’s members. Special thanks to Tommy Murphy and family for the sandwiches, he has however set a precedent now and we look forward to more of the same when we visit Roadstone in the future.
