On Tuesday the 20th of February, our National Coach PJ Nolan visited Maynooth University Snooker Club in County Kildare for coaching session with players who will compete for the University in the upcoming Inter Varsities Snooker Championships.
PJ worked on correcting fundamentals in the player’s address position to develop a smooth delivery in their Cue Actions. PJ also worked on improving the players cue ball control, break building and safety game.
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used to enhance the session like the Mini Domin Eye, Blade Cue, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
Club Support
Paul Davis (MUI Sports Development Officer), Club President Cathal O Neill and current NUI scholarship scholar Adam Halnon are doing a fantastic job on developing Pool and Snooker within the University. PJ was very impressed with the amount of talent on show and he wished both teams good luck in the 2024 Inter Varsities.
Two of the team players are leading SBI International players in Adam Halnon and Ryan McGuirk who will also be competing in the upcoming EBSA European Snooker Championships in Bosnia in March.
