Ireland’s Men’s Snooker Team of Mark Tuite and John Farrell played fantastic snooker to reach the final of the 2017 European Snooker Men’s Team Championships here in Albania. The Irish pair faced Alex Taubman and Andrew Pagett from Wales in a best of nine frames for the title.
The match was the best of nine frames in an exciting format of singles, singles, scotch doubles, singles, singles, scotch doubles, singles, singles and If the match was tied at 4-4 the captains choose the player for the one frame shoot out to find the winner.
In the final the Welsh potters played perfect snooker and made breaks of 57, 74, 84, 65, 51 in a 5 frames to nil victory over their Irish opponents who did amazing to reach the final after a great victory over Germany earlier in the day.
Mark and John should be should be very proud of themselves on reaching the final of the Men’s Championship with so many top players playing this year and with Anthony and Michael reaching the masters final along with Michael Judge reaching the European open final, it was a good week for our RIBSA players. Well done to everyone.
