Snooker & Billiards Ireland held their third (SBI) Under 21 Snooker Tour Event of the season on Sunday 19th of November 2023 in the SBI HQ in Carlow. We had 13 entries in Event 3. There were 12 players in attendance on the day and play commenced at 10am. All matches were best of five frames.
The matches progressed well throughout the day with Leone Crowley setting a high break of 52 followed by Alex Currid with a 56.
Both Leone and Alex progressed to the final. It was a close contest with both players raising their games. Alex took a two frame lead but was clawed back and Leone won by 3 frames to 2.
The final was officiated by SBI Referee Stephanie Foley and I especially thank her for assisting me all day with the running of the tournament.
EBSA Cut off
This event was the final qualfying event for the 2024 European U-21 Championships in March. EBSA will announce soon how many players will qualify from each country and then SBI will start booking flights and hotel for all the players.
