On day 3 the Republic of Ireland Under 21 players were again in action in the 2017 EBSA Under 21 Snooker Championships in the Hilton Hotel Nicosia here in Cyprus.
Charlie Sweeney beat Neil Vincent from France 3 frames to nil to win his group while Stephen Bateman was beaten by Lewis Gillen from England 1-3, he now goes into his final match against Brent Geentjens from Belgium at 5.00pm focused on qualyfing for the knock outs
Noel Landers beat Jere Virtaranta from Finlandat 2.30pm in his last match to qualify for the knock outs. Adam Fitzgerald beat Balázs Morvay from Hungary and had a 94 break in qualyfing for the knock outs.
National Coach PJ Nolan said he was delighted again with performance of the players so far in the U-21 Championships.
