RIBSA Men qualify for 2017 Euros

Congratulations to the RIBSA players Michael Judge, Brendan O Donoghue, TJ Dowling, John Farrell and Philip Browne who have qualified for the 2017 the European Billiards & Snooker Association Mens Snooker Championships in Cyprus from the 12th – 19th of March.

The winner of this European Championship will qualify for the Pro Main Tour for 2017-2019 Seasons.


The Draft Calendar of events

Sunday 12th March: Men’s Championships Commence / Players Meeting and Opening Ceremony (and U18s/U21s Closing Ceremony) Monday 13th March – Sunday 19th March – matches Sunday 19th March:

THE VENUE AND HOTEL IS THE HILTON PARK NICOSIA, CYPRUS

16 STAR Steel-Block competition tables will be in the Venue.

ROOM RATES (payable in Euros to the hotel upon arrival) Single: € 99,- Double or Twin: € 99,- Triple/Family: € 145,- Important Note: The Hotel doesn’t have Triple rooms BUT they are ready to add a third bed in double or twin rooms for those who are asking for a triple room.

The room rate will include full breakfast and free WIFI.

All RIBSA player hotel bookings must be made directly through RIBSA @ info@ribsa.ie

TRANSPORT – Larnaca International Airport Transfers Airport – Hotel – Airport will also be available at a cost of €20 per person and all participants will be greeted by the CSA representatives upon arrival.

VISAS Visas are not required by most European countries but please check. FOOD A good meal can be secured for €12 to €15. CURRENCY

The currency in Cyprus is EURO (€).

WEATHER:  can be changeable, please check with your TV weather programme.

PRACTICE FACILITIES At the recommendation of the Players Sub-Committee, a practice schedule will be published by the Tournament Office detailing set times for countries to practice throughout the course of the day. Details of nearby clubs will be available for players wishing to undertake additional practice (charges may apply).

Prize Money Prize money to Winners and Runner-up will be paid by bank transfer immediately at the conclusion of each Championship. The Prize funds for each championship will be distributed as follows: 2017 European Snooker Championships European U18 and U21 Snooker Championships Highest Break 50.00 € + Trophy Last 16 Not less than Entry fee

The remainder of the Prize fund will be allocated as follows: Winner 40% + Trophy Runner-up 20% + Trophy Semi-Finalists 10% x 2 20% Quarter Finalists 5% x 4 20% European Mens Snooker Championships Highest Break 100.00 € + Trophy Last 16 Not less than Entry fee The remainder of the Prize fund will be allocated as follows: Winner 40% + Trophy Runner-up 20% + Trophy Semi-Finalists 10% x 2 20% Quarter Finalists 5% x 4 20%

Please Remember that the closing date for confirming entries is: 10th February 2017
