This weekend SBI held the qualifying rounds of the National Amateur Snooker Championships in the SBI HQ.
On Saturday we started with 65 entries and the end of Sunday we are down to the last 16 who will now play in finals weekend next weekend.
On Saturday 22nd April we played the top half of the draw to the last 8 and on Sunday 23rd we played the bottom half of the draw down to the last 8 to make up the last 16.

Play will continue next Saturday at 10am where all players are required to wear a bowtie from the last 16 onwards.
The qualifying rounds through up some really tough matches which included Frank Sarsfield v John Farrell and a fantastic match between George O Hara and Mark Tuite which George won 4-3 from 3-0 down.
The match of the tournament was undoubtedly between the no.1 seed Ross Bulman and David Morris which Ross won 4-1. It has a really high scoring match which Ross had breaks of 95,75,62 and 59 and David knocked in a 127 break in the frame which he won.
The were plenty of breaks over 50 this weekend including a 116 break by Ross Bulman but the high break so far is 127 which is held by David Morris.
SBI would like to congratulate all 16 players who qualified for the finals weekend and thank all players who too took part.
