On Tuesday 14th of July our National Coach PJ Nolan travelled to Youghal CYMS in County Cork to hold a free RIBSA Snooker Coaching Session after the Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association offered every registered RIBSA club a free coaching session with our National Coach to help promote the game around the country.
Last season Youghal CYMS was the most successful Junior Club in Ireland when their junior players won the U-14, U-16, U-18 and U-21 National Snooker Championships. The club also boasts the Number 1 ranked player in the RIBSA U-14 and U-16 Rankings.
Adam Fitzgerald will play next week in the World U-21 Championships in Romania and a number of other members were on the Celtic Challenge teams. In Brendan Cooney they have a man totally focus on developing juniors in the town and with regular coaching and guidance the future looks great with so many talented players coming through the ranks.
Next month Ross Bulman, Noel Landers and Adam Fitzgerald will represent the Republic Of Ireland in the Home Internationals in Leeds.
During the coaching today PJ worked on improving the new junior’s Techniques, Bridge, Cue Action, Coming in on line and they practiced cue ball control routines. 12 year olds John Landers and Michael John really impressed PJ on the day.
PJ held a winning break routines tournament for the advanced players Ross Bulman, Adam Bulman. Noel Landers, Conor Kennedy and Adam Fitzgerald on The UK Break, The T Break, The Malta Break, The Greece Break, The Hong Kong Break and The Champions Break.
The five players battled it out and it was Adam Fitzgearld who won the training event with a number of good breaks and Adam is buzzing in excitement for his first upcoming World U 21 Championship.
