Irish International Ronan Whyte from the Northwest Snooker Club made the perfect start to the season when he won the Northwest Under 16 Open in Letterkenny over the weekend.
In the Under 16 final Ronan beat fellow Irish International Sean Devenney 2 frames to 1 in an exciting final. The highest break also went to Ronan with a superb 61 break.
The New Junior Snooker Opens have been organised by the host Clubs to promote snooker in their region and further Under 21 and Under 19 events are planned over the next two weekends.
