Our RIBSA National Coach PJ Nolan held IBSF Snooker Coaching Cue Zones for players participating in the World Under 21 Snooker Championships in the CBSA / WBPSA Coaching Academy in Beijing last week.
Players from Russia, England, India, Finland, New Zealand, Iran and Mongolia attended training on the Shender Match Table which was used for the IBSF World U-21 final . The players were guided through a session with PJ who is also a World Snooker Coach and Head of EBSA Coaching.
PJ said ” he was delighted with the players and how they trained and listen to all his advice. He was very impressed with the state of the art training conditions in Beijing that the Chinese players and coaches have in training the future champions in China ”
The players practiced some of PJ’s specific training routines and they also had their playing technique analysed and fine tuned. All the players received a DVD of their action to bring home and study more.
The Chinese Association have designed fantastic software in helping a player practice certain shots with the use of hardware similar to hawk eye. The Chinese coaches believe this is key in developing more world class stars of the game in China.
The Chinese National Coaches were also on hand to view PJ’s own coaching and training programs and they were very impressed with the alignment laser and his specific practice routines.

The IBSF were promoting the IBSF Coaching Academy by holding Cue Zones allowing players to learn the skills of the game from experienced coaches and Jim Leacy ” President of the IBSF hopes to hold Cue Zones at all IBSF events in the future as the Cue Zones in Beijing were a big success in teaching the players good fundamentals about improving their game ”
