The National Intermediate Championships were held in the SBI HQ on the weekend of the 6th/7th May. We had 52 entries and after a long day we had a strong quarter final line up which was played on Sunday.
We had many great matches throughout this event but the tie of the first round was Dylan Troy beating his club mate Jay Chopra three frames to 2.
Quarter Finals

- Ronan McGuirk 3-2 Sean King
- Brendan O Brien 1-3 George O Hara
- Paul McGrane 2-3 Aaron Goldrick
Semi Finals
- Mark Gleeson 1-3 Ronan McGuirk
- George O Hara 3 v 2 Aaron Goldrick
In the first semi final it was Ronan who ran out the winner after needing all the colors in the fourth frame to take the match
In the second semi it was Aaron who had a 2-1 lead before George leveled to force a decider which George won to take the match by 3 frames to 1
Final
- Ronan McGuirk 0 v 3 George O Hara
In the final it was George who took an early 2 nil lead before Ronan tried to force his way back into the match but it was George who came out on top to take his first National title.
SBI would like to congratulate George on taking his first National title and we wish him every success going into the National Seniors Championships in a couple of weeks time.
High Break
The highest break of the championships was 96 by Aaron Goldrick but its Dane Daly who takes the season high break with 119.
