The third SBI Intermediate Tournament was held last Sunday 19th March in Celbridge Snooker Club. We had 27 entries for this event.
There was a fantastic day’s play which saw Brendan O Brien take the title by beating Dane Daly Mulpeter by 3 frames to 2 in a very highly competitive final. It was Dane who took the opening frame before Brendan took the next 2 to take a 2-1 lead before Dane levelled it up to force a decider which Brendan took.
In his opening 4 matches Dane never dropped a frame until he ran into an in form Brendan O Brien.
The 2 semi-finals saw the 2 finalists come through very comfortably each taking their respective match by a score line of 3-0.
It was Dane Daly Mulpeter who took the high break prize with a fantastic break of 119 in his quarter final match.
SBI would like to thank Celbridge Snooker Club and their staff for all the help on the day. We would also like to thank referee Brendan Devlin and tournament director Shane Mason on running the event successfully.
Finally big congratulations to Benny on another victory. The final Intermediate event before the Championship will be held in Nenagh on Saturday 8th April.
The players must remember the closing date for all SBI events is 1pm on the Thursday before the event. The Draw will be done automatically on the system with match times and displayed on the web site.
