Number 1 seed Alex Currid from Liam Mellows in Wexford won his fourth straight Snooker & Billiards Ireland under 21 National Snooker Ranking event of the season in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow on Sunday the 19th of March.
In two good quality semi finals it was Alex who beat Oisin Bateman from Kilkenny Shed 3-0 while in the other semi final it was a battle of two brothers when Ronan beat his older brother Ryan McGuirk 3-0 to reach the final.
In the final Alex beat Ronan McGuirk from R&R SC 3-1 in a good final. TD on the day was Shane Gorman and theHigh Break went to Alex Currid with 46 break.
Finally big congratulations to Alex on another victory and it promises to be a great exciting finish to the Irish U-21 Snooker season with the National Championships on 15th of April in the HQ in Carlow.
The players must remember the closing date for all SBI events is 1pm on the Thursday before the event. The Draw will be done automatically on the system with match times and displayed on the web site.
