Current Irish U-14 Champion Max Kennedy from Galway won the fourth Snooker & Billiards Ireland under 14 National Snooker Ranking event of the season.
This event was played in the SBI Academy of Excellence on Saturday the 25th of February and featured players from Galway, Longford, Newbridge, Edenderry, Kerry and Dublin.
In the semi-finals, Max Kennedy beat Aaron Donnelly by 3 frames to 0 in the first in a good match and in the other semi-final it was a tight battle with Joe Shannon beating Oscar Ellision Gibbons 3-2.
In a great final it was Joe who won the opening frame, back came Max to level match, Max won third to go 2-1 up, but back came Joe to win the next and force a decider. It was Max who won a great frame to win the title in style.
SBI National Coach PJ Nolan was the TD on the day and said Aaron Horan from Kerry played very well in his first event and also Liam Dunne also impressed on the day. PJ thanked Referee Conor Doyle and Ger Murray for attending and supporting this junior event. Finally, a big thank you to all the players on performing so well on the day and congratulated Max on his success.

Big congratulations to Max on the victory and it promises to be a great exciting finish to the Irish U-14 Snooker season with the National Championships on 13th of May. Special Good luck to all the Irish junior players playing in the European Snooker Championships in Malta. COME ON THE IRISH!!!
The players must remember the closing date for all SBI junior events will 1pm on the Thursday before the event. The Draw will be done automatically on the system with match times and displayed on the web site.
