Alex Currid from Liam Mellows SC in Wexford won the inaugural SBI National Pot Black title in the SBI HQ in Carlow on Sunday the 18th of December. In the final, Alex beat Dylan Rees from Dungarvan SC on the final black to claim the title.
Snooker & Billiards Ireland announced this new event on the calendar earlier in the year. Each club received a club pack, which contained a draw sheet for the club to hold their own pot black qualifying event in our reregistered clubs. Each club champion qualified for the National final this weekend in Carlow
This one frame format was very popular on BBC TV and it helped the grow the game of snooker.
