Ireland’s Mark Tuite had an outstanding 2022 World IBSF Seniors Snooker Championships in Antalya, Turkey this week. The former European Seniors Champion reached the semi final stage to win Ireland a bronze medal in the event.
Mark had won his group and was seeded 7 in the knock outs. A number of great performances from the Killarney man followed with good wins over Ebrahim Baghi from Austria 3-0, Jonni Fulcher from Switzerland 4-2 and Joris Maas from Netherlands 4-3 coming back from 0-3 down to win.
In the semi-final, he faced the Indian Champion Manan Chandra in a best of 9 match and this match was very tight. Mark led 3-2 but in the end his opponent came back to win 5-3.

Snooker & Billiards Ireland had three players competing in the Seniors categories in Dylan Rees, Mark Tuite and John Farrell. Pat Mooney was the Referee and Jim Leacy was the IBSF Vice President. SBI have also 3 Amateur players in Brendan O Donoghue, Greg Casey and David Cassidy playing in the mens championship.
