John Paul Kelly from Waterford won the first Snooker & Billiards Ireland Intermediate Tour event of the season in the SBI HQ in Carlow. There were 38 entries in the event and due to the late night on Saturday 8th November the final was played on Sunday 23rd of October in the HQ Carlow.
In the final John Paul beat Aaron Goldrick from Cavan 3 frames to 2 in an exciting final to claim the title and goes No.1 in the country.
There were no major shocks in the event but there were plenty of outstanding performances which included Dave Carton taking Mark Gleeson to a deciding frame and Aaron Goldrick beating George O Hara 3-0.
