Snooker & Billiards Ireland held a very successful Summer Camp in the SBI HQ in Carlow on Thursday 28th, Friday 29th and Saturday 30th of July with our National Coach PJ Nolan.
Players from all around Ireland
Players of all levels aged from 45yrs to 12yrs from all around Ireland from Athlone, Navan, Galway, Cork, Dublin, Meath, Newbridge and Longford attended the 2022 summer camp. The SBI summer camps are held each year to allow our members to train with our National Coach who is also a WPBSA Coach and Head of Coaching in the European Billiards & Snooker Association.
Training Structure
Training was from 11am-4pm on each day and all the players said the camp was structured perfectly. All the players received Group Coaching, Technique Profile and a specific Training Booklet. The players brought a USB Pen Drive to receive the movies from the camp to study at home and PJ believes this is crucial in learning the key fundamentals.
During this summer camp PJ held various mini tournaments to give the players vital match practice in frames and drills. PJ held sessions on Cue Ball Control, Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting Drills and match-play drills.
Latest Coaching Aids
The players also had their Technique checked using all the latest Coaching Aids like the Str8aim G-5, Master Doctor, Blade Cue, Chris Henry Balls and EBSA Coaching Balls to develop their Approach, Stance, Cue Action, Grip, Address Position, Aiming and Delivery.
Congratulations
The National Coach was very impressed with the commitment of the players on all the days. The players received a specific training plan with drills and a mental training booklet to help them prior and during the upcoming events. The players also received a certificate and a medal to congratulate them on attending this year’s summer camp.
Perfect Venue
The SBI academy was the perfect venue for this summer camp with top class tables and the players were delighted with the incredible playing conditions.
Thank You
SBI would like to thank all the players and we look forward to seeing them all compete in our up and coming events next season.
