Snooker & Billiards Ireland held their annual AGM in the SBI HQ in Carlow on Saturday the 25th of July from 12 noon to 3.45pm. SBI Chairman Dylan Rees welcomed all the members to the AGM in our new home of Irish Snooker
This was followed by SBI President Jim Leacy who gave his opening address, a minute’s silence was held for people who had passed away during the year. Next our Chairman Dylan Rees informed the members about what has happened during the past year within SBI and what is planned in the future.
Next the minutes of the 2021 EGM were read and they received a proposer and seconder to have them passed. The SBI Secretary Aonghus McAnally gave his own Secretary report on the past season highlights on and off the table.
This was followed with a report by SBI Treasure John Tobin on the financial side of the association, next SBI Anti-Doping officer Jim Leacy gave a talk about how important it is for players and coaches be aware of the anti-doping process within Sport Ireland / Wada Anti-Doping Programme regarding prohibited products.

Governance Code for Sport
Jim Leacy and Tony Thorpe explained the importance of Good Governance for Sport to everyone at the AGM and they detailed what SBI need to keep on doing to ensure we follow the guidelines within the Sport Ireland Code for sport.
Reports
Reports were given on all our Snooker & Billiards Events detailing what has been happening on and off the table plus on the SBI web site / social media platforms since the last AGM. Dylan also outlined the planned SBI Golf Day in Birr on the 25th of July and how important it is for all members to support this fundraiser. Contact any board member for info.
Elected
Dylan Rees was re-elected unopposed to the position of SBI Chairman. The position of Acting SBI Secretary will be Neil Shanahan. The position of Vice Chairman went to Jay Chopra after being elected unopposed. The proposed motions were discussed next and voted on with one motion defeated.
