Snooker & Billiards Ireland would like to inform our members of the Cut off point for the 2022 European Championships in Albania. The European Billiards & Snooker Association have just announced a deadline for entries for Sunday 8th May 2022 (Midnight, GMT).
With this deadline before our National Championships SBI have decided that the cut of point in the rankings will be after Amateur Event 3 for the Mens Team Event on the 23rd & 24th of April for the Team event. In the Seniors Singles and Team event it will be Event 3 on the 10th of April.
As the EBSA Championships in Poland was Cancelled the events have been moved to Albania and the qualifiers below have already qualified for the Championships
PLAYERS NOTE : You cannot play in the Men’s singles and the Seniors over 40 Singles event this year as both will be played at the same time.
Players can play in the singles and team events in either men”s or Seniors if they qualify.
Players for the Under 18’s Championship (players must be U18 on 31st December 2021)
- Leone Crowley, Alex Currid, Aaron Smith, James O Connell and Jack O’Brien
Players to the Under 21’s Championship (players must be U21 on 31st December 2021)
- Ross Bulman, Leone Crowley, Aaron Goldrick, Alex Currid and Aaron Smith
Players to the Men Championship (players must be aged 13 at start of the event)
- Rodney Goggins, David Cassidy, Mark Walsh, Noel Landers and Mark Tuite
Four (4) players to the Seniors Championship (players must be 40 or more on the first day of the event)
- Top 4 players Available after Event 3
And, a maximum of 2 Teams of 2 players in each of the Women, Seniors & Men Snooker Team championships
- Top 4 players Available after Event 3 in each category
‐ U16 Championships: Following completion of the U18’s Championship group matches, twelve (12) players (decided using results from the U18’s Championship) who are under the age of 16 on the 31st December 2021, will also be entered into the U16 Championships.
This competition will be played over one-day with players being seeded using the U18 group matches ranking list.
According to the EBSA/WPBSA agreement, the U21 and Men Champions will be nominated for the 2022/2024 Main Professional Tour.
