I am writing to you on behalf of EBSA Board and PBSA to provide a latest update on the planned European Championships that are scheduled to take place in Lublin from 1st – 14th April 2022.
On advice and recommendation received from the Mayor of Lublin, the decision has been taken to cancel the Championships. The decision has not been taken lightly, but the safety and security of our players, referees, coaches and supporters is of paramount importance and it is something that cannot be guaranteed, following the invasion of Ukraine and the migration of some 1.5million refugees into Poland.
It is on this basis that the Championships are cancelled. Both EBSA and PBSA understand the disappointment and inconvenience that this will cause. I would be grateful if you could notify your players, referees and supporters of this latest information.
