Number 1 seed Ross Bulman from Youghal CYMS won the 2021 Irish National Under 21 title in style today with a 3 frames to 1 victory Leone Crowley from Cork City.
This year’s U-21 Championship was played in the Crucible SC in Cork City on Saturday the 13th of November. The championship was open to players who were Under 21 on 31st December 2020.
The tournament refereed was International referee Pat Mooney and SBI would like thank him for his assistance on making the tournament a big success on the day.
The TD for the Championships was our National Coach PJ Nolan. All matches were the best of 5 frames including the final. Highest Break of the Championships went also to Ross Bulman with his 96 Break.
Four Star matches in Q-Finals
All of the Q-Finals matches were top class with Ross Bulman beating Alex Currid 3-1, Mark Gleeson winning 3-0 against James O Connell, Noel Gleeson beat local player Jamie Quilligan 3-1 and Leone Crowley beat Sean Walsh 3-1 in the last of the Q-Finals.

The Semi Finals
In the Semi Finals it was both top seeds who were in top class with the number 1 seed Ross Bulman from Youghal winning 3-0 against Noel Gleeson while No.2 seed Leone Crowley beat Mark Gleeson 3-1.
In the final
Ross started off on fire with a 54 break to win the opening frame. In frame 2 the former U-14, U-16, U-18, U-19 and U-21 Champion made an incredible 96 break to go 2-0 and one away from the title. Back fought the current U-16 and U-18 Champion to win the third and close the gap to 2-1. In Frame four it was tight until Bulman got in to make a frame winning break up to the green to secure the win.

This Event was played in full dress, Pants, Long Sleeve Short, Waistcoat and Shoes. All National Championships will be played within our SBI COVID-19 protocols for all the players / supporters in the venue.
