As part of the 2021, European Week of Sport. Snooker & Billiards Ireland held a PJ Nolan snooker coaching Cue Zone in Newbridge CYMS on Sunday the 26th of September. The SBI and Newbridge CYMS COVID-19 protocols were in place and observed at this event.
This free Cue Zone was held from 11am-4pm with our National Coach. In attendance today were a mixture of club players plus junior and senior International players who will compete in next month for Ireland at the European Championship in Portugal.
All members of all ages and levels were invited to attend this cue zone to pick up skills of the game from PJ who is also a World Snooker Coach and Head Coach of the European Snooker Association.
Practice and Coaching Handouts were available to improve their game. PJ used all the latest Coaching Aids like the Str8aim, Master Doctor, Blade Cue, Chris Henry Balls and EBSA Coaching Balls to develop the players Approach, Stance, Cue Action, Grip, Address Position, Aiming and Delivery during the cue zone.
The 2021 European Week of Sport
European Week of Sport aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. The week is for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level. With a focus on grassroots initiatives, the aim is to inspire Europeans to #BeActive on a regular basis and create opportunities in peoples’ everyday lives to exercise more.
Being Active doesn’t mean having to be part of a sports club, a gym, running marathons or cycling across Europe. Being Active can be running around playing with your children, grabbing a walk with work colleagues on your lunch break, going outside and exploring the great outdoors – whatever gets you moving to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle.
Being Active leads to;
- An increase in health benefits
- Better mental health
- Feeling great
- Confidence
SBI would like to thank Jim Carrick and everyone at the Newbridge CYMS for holding the successful cue zone on the day. Finally well done to all the players who attended the session with PJ.
