Snooker & Billiards Ireland have just announced a date of the level 1 Coaching Ireland Coaching Education Course which will be held in the new SBI HQ in Carlow on the 20th & 21st of November 2021. The course will be given by our National Coach PJ Nolan.
Level 1 Course
This two-day training course is for ONLY for members who have completed the Intro Level course in the past. This level course covers the coaching skills in helping the coaches identify what is needed to start training players to a level 1 standard.
All the Coaches will also need to attend the following courses before being presented with the Level 1 Accreditation Certificate.
- A sport partnership 3 hr basic awareness course
- Attend the ISC Children’s Officer Course
Both courses above are organised by their local sports authority through Sports Ireland. The coaches will also need to go through Garda Vetting before completion of the course.
Costs
The full course cost is €32.00. All the coaches must be paid up members of Snooker & Billiards Ireland for the 2020 / 2021 season and membership can be paid on line at €17.00 for over 21yrs.
To book your place on this course, you need to be a registered member. If you are not a member, you will need to register before you can attend the coaching course.
Two Day Course
The two-day Level 1 Course is given by PJ Nolan on the (Role of Coaches + Playing Techniques) and Neil Shanahan on the (Rules of the Game). The course starts at 10am and runs until 1pm. Lunch is from 1pm-2pm and Restart at 2pm until 6pm on both days.
SBI Coaching
At present SBI have 87 Intro Level qualified coaches around the country approved by Coaching Ireland in Limerick University and we have 19 Level One Coaches.
