On Sunday the 29th of August, Snooker & Billiards Ireland Chairman Dylan Rees was very happy to announce that SBI have obtained the required planning permission to start creating the new home of Irish Snooker in the new SBI Academy of Excellence HQ in Carlow Town, County Laois.
SBI received the keys this week and they held their board meeting in the new HQ today with Dylan Rees, John Tobin, Tom O Driscoll, Tony Thorpe, Ger Murray, Shane Mason, David Joyce and Neil Shanahan in attendance. Dylan thanked all the committee for all their tremendous work in securing this project over the past 10 months.

Good News
SBI are very excited about this project and we all know our members have had a hard time throughout this COVID-19 pandemic but finally there is some good news to celebrate for our members. We look forward to welcoming all members to our new home and grow the game throughout Ireland in all categories.
The work will now begin in fitting out the unit below. SBI will soon be announcing more news in the coming weeks.
