A message from Tournament Director Connie O Sullivan. I spoke with the Glen Eagle Hotel today. We would need to be in level 2 in order to host the Munster and All Ireland Snooker Club championships, and from any information we can get, there’s no way we will be in level 2 in January, so it is with regret that I have made the decision to cancel the championships in January 2020.
I have asked the Glen Eagle if there is a 2-weekend availability (one weekend after the later in the year so that we might get a chance to run the 2021 championships at a later date.
Because of Covid -19 a lot of weddings, conferences had to be cancelled in the GE in 2020 have been rebooted for 2021. The Glen Eagle are looking to see if some stuff can be moved to facilitate the snooker.
They will revert back to me in January, and in turn I will revert back to all so until then, stay safe, wear your masks and may you and yours have a happy, peaceful and safe Xmas and New Year.
