It is with sincere regret that SBI have decided that the 2020 National Championships will not be played.
Due to the current situation and the ongoing restrictions it has been impossible to put together a meaningful and playable calendar of events and because we are now on the brink of entering 2021 and it looks like the most positive scenario of looking at a new calendar might be in February and with so much uncertainty it makes it impossible to plan and play any snooker, let alone the 2020 championships.
I realise there will be a lot of disappointment at this decision, but we really have very little options open to us and the SBI Council are as disappointed as anyone.
We will now hope that in the New Year we can plan and play our 2021 calendar of events, ranking tournaments, qualifiers and our National Championships.
All we can say for now is keep safe, adhere to the advice on social distancing and have a very Happy Christmas.
