RIBSA No1 Ronan McGuirk won the third RIBSA Under 14 Snooker Ranking of the season in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow on Sunday the 16th of February.
Ronan had the perfect day winning without dropping a single frame all day. It was fantastic to see so many talented young players trying to qualify for the Celtic Challenge International Junior Team this year.
In the final Ronan McGuirk from R&R SC beat Jamie Walsh from Cork who was in his first RIBSA Final 3 frames to nil. Jamie impressed on the day.
Semi Finals
In the Semi Finals Ronan beat Cillian Corcoran from Fermoy 3-0 while Jamie beat fellow Corkman Jamie McCarty from the Crucible 3-2 in a great match. Both Cillian and Jamie also impressed with fantastic snooker on the day.
In the Plate Final
Charlie Cronan from Crucible SC beat David Farrelly from Celbridge SC 2 frames to nil in an excellent final. The Top 6 players on the Under 14 Rankings will qualify for the 2020 Celtic Challenge in Wales so it promises to be an exciting finish with such talented players.
Thank You
RIBSA would like to thank all the players for entering, TD Declan Quinn and the Ivy Rooms SC for hosting another successful junior event.
