Shane Bates from Liam Mellows SC in Wexford won the third RIBSA Intermediate Ranking event in the Hot Shots Snooker Club in Galway on 1st of February.
In the final the former Under 21 National Champion beat Number 1 seed George O Hara 3 frames to 1 in a great final.
The Wexford man denied the Dubliner a 3 in a row of titles after George had won the previous two events. In fact, Shane had to beat the number 1 and 2 seeds to lift the title. He also capped off the fantastic day winning the high break with a superb 96 break.

This was the third qualifying event for the Grand Finals with the semi finalists in each event qualifying for the event on the 7th of March in Newbridge CYMS.
