After a long day of top class Snooker it will be Mark Walsh from Nenagh who will play Adrian Morrissey from Wexford in the 4th RIBSA Intermediate Ranking event after the final was postponed on Saturday the 29th of February 2020 in the Celbridge Snooker Club County Kildare.
The final will be played soon and RIBSA will be contacting the players today to confirm a date and time. In the Semi Finals Mark Walsh beat Liam Brady from Darcy McGees 3-0 while Adrian Morrissey beat Dane Daly 3-1 in the other semi final..
The standard was very high all day and Liam had beaten the No.1 Seed George O Hara wile Dane beat the No.2 Seed John Torpey. Trevor Dunne rolled back the years after being a successful junior many years ago to lead the high break with the final to be played.
RIBSA would like to thank Celbridge SC for hosting the successful tournaments as the breaks kept rolling in all day to make it exciting Snooker. Finally thank you to all the players on entering and making it one of the largest intermediate events this season.

- Grand Finals Qualifiers for 2020
This was the last event for players to qualify for the Grand Finals with the Semi Finalists in each Intermediate Ranking Tournament this season qualifying for the Grand Finals.
Event 1 Qualifiers : John Torpey, George O Hara, Dane Daly and Adrian Morrissesy
Event 2 Qualifiers : Benny O Brien, Joe Purcell
Event 3 Qualifiers : Shane Bates and Mark Walsh
Event 4 Qualifiers : Liam Brady
Many Intermediate players had a great season and qualified many times so it be now 9 players playing and focused on winning the Intermediate Grand Final crown in Newbridge CYMS on the 7th of March 2020. Good luck to everyone and may the best man win.

This RIBSA Intermediate event, the players will have to enter on line via the new on line payment system. CLICK HERE
Enter Via – On-Line Payment System
Players will have to first pay their membership and register for the season. When they register, they will be asked to create a username and password before they will be allowed to enter an event. Any issues with entering they should email info@ribsa.ie.
George O Hara has won the first two events of the season and Shane Bates won event 3. The Closing date for all events is the Friday before the tournament at 1pm. The Draw will then appear on the ribsa web site with match times.
Play will start at 10.30am on the morning.
Please Note: All players must first paid they membership before being allowed to enter an event.
Any player who has already paid their yearly RIBSA membership must redo this process on line and they will be refunded when they arrive at the tournament.
On-Line Payment System
This will be the first RIBSA Intermediate event where the players will have to enter on line via the new on line payment system.

- The Entry fee will be €21.00 for seniors
- €11.00 for juniors Under 21

- 16-20 – €12.00
- Under 16 – €7.00

New Guidelines
RIBSA have confirmed new guild lines for Intermediate Snooker have been created to open up the Intermediate Status and a new RIBSA Challenge Tour has also been created to give our lower ranked players events to play in and the Challenge Tour events will be held the day after each Intermediate in the same club.
Intermediate Guidelines for eligibility to play 2019 – 2020 season
Players in the categories listed below are not allowed play in the Intermediate events.
- 1. Any player who finished in the Top 10 on the Senior Rankings in the previous 3 seasons.
- 2. Current and former Irish Senior Champions in the past 15 years.
- 3. Current and former WPBSA main tour players who were inside the top 64 on the Main Tour.
Players in all above categories who feel they have a legitimate reason to be allowed play may apply in writing to RIBSA at info@ribsa.ie to request a review of their status. RIBSA council reserves the right to review the eligibility of all players who enter Intermediate events.
