Dane O Donoghue from Killarney in Co Kerry beat Jason Keogh from Co Meath 3 frames to 1 to win the Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association second Challenge Ranking Tournament of the Season on Sunday the 10th of November in the Tralee Snooker Club in Co Kerry.
Semi Finals
In the Semi – Finals Dane beat Michelle Sherwin 3 frames to 1 while Jason Keogh beat James O Connell 3 frames to nil. The highest break also went to Dane with a superb 81 break. The event was hailed a big success.

Enter your name now by texting the RIBSA Number on 085 2428701 before the closing date the Friday before the tournament. The Draw will then appear on the ribsa web site with match times. Play will start at 10.30am on the morning.
- Grand Finals
The Semi Finalists in each Challenge Ranking Tournament this season will qualify for the a 16 man Grand Final in 2020 in Newbridge CYMS.

The Challenge events will ONLY feature players who have never represented RIBSA at any age over 16yrs old.
- Open to all ages of RIBSA members who have never represented RIBSA in any International event over 16yrs in any category.
- Any former National Champion in any level over 16yrs
- Any WPBSA member are excluded for the Challenge Championship.
Entry Fees
- €10.00 for over 21 yrs old
- €10.00 for Under 21’s
- €5.00 for Under 16’s
All matches will be the best of 3 frames, the Semi Final and final will be the best of 5 frames. This event will be an open draw with no seeds and action will begin at 10.30am on the morning.
- New Challenge Tour planned for 2019-2020 Season
RIBSA are planning to hold a full tour this season to give the opportunity to all the club players all around Ireland who dream of winning a RIBSA Title. RIBSA believe this new Challenge events will be a big success in a stepping stone to help grow the game around the clubs
- Four National events plus a Grand Final plus National Championship will be held each season.
- All Challenge tour events are 1 day events following the Intermediate events in the same club.
