RIBSA held a National Team Snooker Training Camp for a selection of players who will be competing in the 2019 IBSF World Championships in Turkey next week on Saturday the 19th of October in the Ivy Rooms SC in Carlow with our National Coach PJ Nolan.
Ross Bulman, Daniel O Regan, Shane Gorman, Rodney Goggins, Stephen Bateman, Tom O Driscoll, Ger McNamara and Dylan Rees attended the training day to sharpen up their game.
PJ who is also one of the leading WPBSA Professional Coaches guided all the players through a mixture of Technical, Cue Ball Control, Scoring, Long Potting and Tactical routines during the session from 11am-4pm.
Star of the day was Stephen Bateman from Kilkenny who had a superb camp winning two events. All the players received a number of booklets covering practice routines to the mental side of the game plus a Championship booklet which will guide them in Turkey.
- Technical Challenge
Stephen Bateman won the Technical Challenge with 23pts, second was Rodney Goggins with 21pts and third was Dylan Rees with 18pts.
- Control Challenge
Rodney Goggins and Ross Bulman both won the Control Challenge with 28pts, second was Stephen Bateman with 27pts and third was Daniel O Regan with 26pts
- Scoring Challenge
Stephen Bateman won the Scoring Challenge with 360pts, second was Rodney Goggins with 350pts and third was Tom O Driscoll with 270pts.
