The 2019 Annual General Meeting of the Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association was held on Saturday the 11th of May during the Irish Snooker Championship finals weekend in the Ivy Rooms Snooker in Carlow.
The AGM was hailed a big success and a new committee was elected on the day. There was a good balance in attendance today with players, referees, and parents and a good discussion was held on next season.
A new RIBSA President was elected at the AGM when Jim Leacy was elected unopposed after Eamon Kearns stood down after many years of service to RIBSA. Shane Mason was elected unopposed for the position of Treasurer after Anthony Bonnar stood down.
The position of RIBSA Chairman was also up for election when Jim Leacy announced he was stepping down after many years of service but this position was not filled at this AGM. Jim Leacy agreed to be care taker Chairman for 3 months until a person can be found to fill this position.
