Ross wins RIBSA U-21 IBSF Event 1

17 year old Ross Bulman from Youghal CYMS got his revenge over rival and friend Aaron Hill when he won the first IBSF / RIBSA Under 21 Snooker Ranking event of the season in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow on Sunday the 3rd of February.

The final was a repeat of yesterdays Under 18 final and Ross Bulman and Aaron Hill were again in excellent form on the day to reach the final.  The final was again superb and in frame 1 Ross opened with a 41 break to control the frame to go 1-0 up in the best of 5 match.

In frame 2 Aaron got in early to build up a 40 point lead and controlled the frame to level match at 1-1. In frame 3 Ross got in first with a superb 78 break to put him 2-1 up and one away from victory.

In frame 4 Aaron got in first and made a fantastic 108 break to level the match at 2-2. In the decider nobody wanted to make that first mistake but it was Ross who got in first to make 27 to lead 35-5, Next chance again fell to Ross and a break of 12 put him 47-5 in front with 6 reds remaining.  Many safety shots later Ross got in again to make a break of 46 to win the frame and match 3-2. He now goes Number 1 in the rankings for China.

Three RIBSA rankings events plus a National Championship are being held this season to qualify players for the IBSF World U-21 Snooker Championships which will be held in China later on this year.
