Bulman Wins U-18 Event 3

Ross Bulman from Youghal CYMS won the final of the third RIBSA / EBSA Under 18 Snooker Ranking event of the season beating Aaron Hill from Crucible SC in Cork 3 frames to 2. The final was postponed yesterday due to the bad weather and the final will be played this morning.

This event was held in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow on Saturday the 15th of December. At the start of the morning RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy had a meeting with all the players and parents about how to encourage more juniors to enter the National RIBSA events and good feedback was received.

In the tournament Ross Bulman was in great form in making three centuries breaks and the final featured two of the best juniors in the world and it was a great match with Ross winning it 3-2.

Semi Finals

In the semi final Aaron beat Ryan McGuirk from R&R SC 3-2 while Ross Bulman beat Jack Newman from Fermoy SC 3 frames to nil in the other semi final.

High Breaks

The high break was 117 by Ross Bulman. Ross had the two centuries in his Q-Final match 117 and 116 beating Luke Bateman and 100 break in his semi final. National Coach PJ Nolan was the TD on the Day and he was delighted with the quality of snooker on the day.

RIBSA would like to thank all the young players and the Ivy Rooms SC for hosting the successful day of Junior Snooker and Referee Conor Doyle. The action starts again at 10.30am for the Under 21’s tomorrow morning.
