The Republic of Ireland team have retained the International Challenge Cup in style in the end at the Billard Club Montpellier.
The performance from the Irish Team was special considering the squad arriving in France under very sad circumstances following the loss of their member and great friend Mick Grogan.
Team Captain Eddie Ingle said “I cannot describe how sad we are to have lost our great friend Mick and I can’t describe how proud we are to have retained the ICC Cup in Mick’s memory.
Every player dug very deep into their reserves to make sure that there was no way we were not going back across the Irish Sea without the cup and we proudly and emotionally dedicate this win to the late, great Mick Grogan a wonderful friend and fantastic man and our thoughts are with his friends and family and tonight here in France we say ‘This ones for you Mick”
