Stephen Bateman from the Kilkenny Shed won the National Under 21 Snooker Championships on Sunday the 13th of May in the Ivy Rooms SC in Carlow. In the final he beat Aaron Hill from the Crucible SC in Cork with a superb 59 break in the decider to win 4 frames to 3 in a superb final and win his first National Junior Title for the talented Kilkenny cueist.
Both players will represent RIBSA at the up coming World IBSF Championships in China next Month.
- Father & Son win Irish Titles on same day
Earlier in the day Stephen’s father James had won the National Intermediate Billiards title and it is the first time in the history of RIBSA that this has ever happened.
Well done to the Bateman’s.
The final was live streamed all around the world and the Referee in charge was Conor Doyle.
Semi Finals
In the semi-finals Stephen Bateman beat Ronan Whyte 3-2 and Aaron Hill beat Noel Landers 3-1.
Championship High Break
The Championship high break was 107 by Aaron Hill.
Presentations
RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy presented all the trophies to the finalist and congratulated everyone.

Finals Weekend
The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association Championships Final Weekend will produce 15 National Champions in various genders and age groups in both Snooker and Billiards from Friday 11th of May to Sunday 13th of May in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow.
